Dr Steve Bagi is a consulting psychologist with more than 30 years’ experience in leadership, team development and professional education.
Through Actuate Leadership, Steve works with leaders, teams and school boards to build greater self-awareness, strengthen working relationships and develop more effective ways of working together.
Experience across education and organisations
Steve works across the education and corporate sectors, with particular experience supporting school leaders, leadership teams and boards. His PhD in Educational Leadership explored the experiences and challenges faced by beginning principals of Independent schools, giving him a strong understanding of the demands of educational leadership.
He also teaches Leadership, Team Dynamics and Organisational Psychology at Bond University on the Gold Coast.
A strengths-based approach.
Steve’s approach is practical, personalised and strengths-based. Rather than focusing only on what needs to be fixed, he helps people understand the strengths they already bring, how those strengths influence the way they lead and work with others, and where they may need to adapt.
The aim is to turn greater self-awareness into practical, sustainable change.
A focus on leader wellbeing.
Steve also has a strong professional interest in leader wellbeing and burnout.
Drawing on research, professional practice and his own experience, he has written and presented in this area and supported professionals navigating the challenges of burnout and sustainable leadership.
Working with Steve.
Steve works with organisations throughout Australia, providing one-to-one leadership coaching, strengths-based development, team workshops, school board development and professional learning programs. His work combines psychological insight, evidence-based research and practical experience, with a strong focus on helping people apply what they learn in real situations.
